Maslak: GPS & Offline Maps
Your route. Your choices.
This policy explains what Maslak handles on your device, what it sends when you use online features, and how to request deletion of feedback data.
Plain-language summary
Maslak uses location for navigation. When you use online search or routing, the app sends search text and relevant coordinates to map services so they can return results. Saved offline navigation data stays on your device.
Who provides Maslak
Maslak (package ai.saifullah.maslak) is developed and published by Saifullah Ahad, operating on Google Play as SAIFULLAH.
No account, sign-in, subscription, advertising profile, or cloud-sync profile is created.
Location permission
Maslak may access precise or approximate location to show your position, start a route, match your position to a road, calculate progress, and provide turn-by-turn guidance.
Location can continue during an active, user-started navigation session through a foreground service and visible notification. Maslak does not request Android's background-location permission.
Data used by online features
- Search text and location bias
- When you search while connected, your query and, when available, coordinates near your current location are sent to Photon to find and rank places.
- Route points
- When an online route is needed, the route origin and selected destination coordinates are sent to the public OSRM routing service to calculate the route.
- Map area requests
- Maslak retrieves map styles and vector tiles from OpenFreeMap. The requested tile areas and standard network information, including IP address, are visible to that provider.
- Offline region downloads
- Map tiles and, when selected, OpenStreetMap extracts are downloaded from OpenFreeMap and Geofabrik so maps, search, and routing can work without a connection.
Optional feedback
If you choose Send feedback, Maslak sends your message, an optional reply email, app version, Android version, and device manufacturer/model to Web3Forms, which relays it to our support inbox.
This data is used only for support and troubleshooting. Nothing is sent through this feature unless you press Send.
What stays on your device
- Downloaded map regions and tiles.
- Offline routing graphs and searchable place indexes.
- App preferences and download state.
You can delete downloaded regions in Maslak. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes all app-controlled local data.
Third-party services
Online requests are sent directly from Maslak over HTTPS to the services needed to complete the action:
- Photon — online place search.
- OSRM — online route calculation.
- OpenFreeMap — map styles and vector tiles.
- Geofabrik — OpenStreetMap region extracts.
- Web3Forms — optional feedback relay.
These providers may process standard server logs under their own privacy and retention practices. We do not sell location or any other user data, and Maslak contains no advertising, analytics, attribution, or tracking SDK.
Retention and deletion
Maslak does not operate an account database or store online search and route requests on developer-controlled servers. Feedback received in our support inbox is kept only as needed to respond and troubleshoot, normally no longer than 12 months.
We delete developer-controlled feedback data within 30 days of a valid request, unless limited information must be retained to meet a legal obligation.
