Privacy Policy — Punutis

1) Who provides Punutis

Punutis is provided by Saifullah Ahad. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com. The developer website is saifullah.ai.

2) What the app does

Punutis helps nearby livestock keepers preserve animal descriptions, ownership memories, ancestry claims, and supporting evidence. It estimates a range for possible kinship instead of treating missing parents as unrelated. The app works without an account or developer-operated cloud service.

No developer collection: Punutis has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, account, or cloud-storage SDK. Saifullah Ahad does not receive your village records through the app.

3) Information stored on your device

Depending on what you enter or attach, local app storage can contain:

the keeper name, shared-herd name, and six-digit village exchange code you choose;
animal names or descriptions, sex, approximate birth years, colours, markings, owners, and living status;
parent claims, confidence labels, identity-match decisions, kinship calculations, and evidence notes;
photos selected with Android's Photo Picker and voice notes recorded after microphone permission is granted;
signed change history, nearby peer identifiers and names, local reports, and blocked-peer choices;
an app-specific signing key and, if configured, a salted one-way hash of the separate Punutis PIN.

Biometric templates and your device PIN or pattern are never available to Punutis. Android performs optional biometric verification and returns only whether it succeeded.

4) Nearby exchange and recipients

When a user starts a nearby exchange, Punutis discovers another Punutis device on the same local network and sends the shared village braid directly to that device. The transfer can include animal records, evidence, parent claims, identity decisions, reports needed for the audit trail, and attached photos or voice notes. The receiving keeper stores a local copy.

The transport uses authenticated encryption and signed operations. The exchange does not pass through a Punutis website or developer server. Do not exchange with a phone or keeper you do not trust.

Deleting your local braid does not delete copies already exchanged to another keeper's phone. Each participant controls the records held on their own device.

5) Permissions and device features

Microphone: requested only after you choose Voice note, read the in-app explanation, and continue. Audio is recorded into the evidence attachment until you stop.
Local network and Wi-Fi state: used for user-started nearby discovery and direct device-to-device exchange. Punutis does not use these permissions for a developer cloud service.
Biometric: used only if you enable biometric app unlock. Device credentials are not an alternative unlock method.
Photos: Android's Photo Picker grants access only to the picture you select; Punutis does not request broad storage access.

6) How records are used

Local records are used to display the village braid, find possible duplicate animal identities, preserve conflicting memories without silently choosing one, estimate kinship bands, and support reports or blocked-peer decisions. Punutis does not use this information for advertising, profiling, or sale.

7) Reports, blocking, and child safety

Flags on shared evidence, parent claims, and imported changes create a report in the village's local safety log. Blocking a known phone quarantines future changes from that peer without rewriting past records. Because there is no central moderation server, an in-app report is not automatically sent to Saifullah Ahad.

For suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation, use the in-app report and block controls, contact www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com, and contact the appropriate local authority. Read the separate Punutis Child Safety Standards.

8) Retention and deletion

Records remain in local app storage until you use Settings → Delete local braid, clear Punutis storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app. Delete local braid removes local animals, memories, attachments, reports, peer history, app-lock settings, village setup, and the app's local signing identity. It does not affect other keepers' phones.

9) Security choices

You may enable an independent Punutis PIN, biometric unlock, or both. Limited Preview can hide animal and evidence previews behind an extra tap. No system can eliminate all risk, so keep your village code private, exchange only with intended participants, and use a device screen lock.

10) Children's privacy

Punutis is a livestock record tool and is not designed for children. The developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information. Users must not place exploitative, sexual, or otherwise unlawful material involving children into shared evidence.

11) International data transfers

Punutis does not transfer records to the developer or a cloud provider. A nearby exchange transfers records only between the participating devices on their local network; participants are responsible for where those devices and their copies are located.

12) Changes to this policy

Material changes will be posted at https://privacy.saifullah.ai/Punutis.html with a revised effective date.
