Privacy Policy - Wardline

1) Who we are and what Wardline does

Wardline is provided by Saifullah Ahad ("we", "us", "our"). Wardline lets a traveler share one temporary, route-bound trip with one privately invited watcher. It shows live location and staged check-in alerts, including server-side escalation when expected traveler updates stop. Wardline is not an emergency service and does not guarantee personal safety, rescue, device connectivity, or location accuracy.

2) Data Wardline collects and stores

Wardline processes the following data only as needed for the features you use:

• Anonymous identity: an anonymous Firebase account identifier and the display name you enter.
• Trusted-circle data: invite code and status, traveler and watcher roles, circle membership, and the other participant's display name.
• Messaging data: a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token used to deliver guardian updates and alerts.
• Optional emergency contact: a contact name and phone number if you choose to add them for a pre-filled SMS action.
• Trip and precise location data: foreground and background location, accuracy, capture time, start and destination coordinates, last-known location, short location trail, route progress, heartbeat and check-in timing, stalls, deviations, deadline, session status, escalation stage and reason, acknowledgements, and manual SOS actions.

Precise location collection starts only when the traveler starts a guardian session and stops when the session ends. Wardline cannot run its live guardian workflow if required location access is denied.

3) How we use the data

• Authenticate each installation with an anonymous account.
• Create and maintain the private traveler-watcher link.
• Synchronize the live trip, route progress, and last-known location with the invited watcher.
• Evaluate check-in deadlines, stalls, route deviations, and arrival timing.
• Deliver staged alerts and preserve the dead-man's-switch when the traveler app stops reporting.
• Process in-app cloud-data deletion requests and prevent unauthorized access.

4) Sharing and service providers

Wardline does not sell personal data and has no advertising, analytics, payment, or social-feed SDK. Trip and location data are shared only with the private watcher linked by the traveler's invite and with the service providers needed to run Wardline:

• Google Firebase: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Cloud Messaging process identity, trip, alert, and deletion data on our behalf. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
• MapLibre and OpenFreeMap: MapLibre displays map data from OpenFreeMap. Map style, tile, sprite, and font requests go to OpenFreeMap and include ordinary network information such as IP address and the requested map tiles. See the OpenFreeMap website.

If you choose the emergency SMS action, Wardline opens your installed SMS app with the optional phone number and last-known-location message pre-filled. Wardline never sends the SMS automatically. Email links similarly open your chosen email app; Wardline does not operate an in-app feedback relay.

5) Retention

• Invite records expire and are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours.
• When a session is marked arrived or cancelled, its session record and location trail are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours.
• Active-session data remains until the session ends or the account is deleted so the server can continue the expected escalation workflow.
• The anonymous account, display name, messaging token, circle membership, and optional emergency contact remain until you revoke the circle where applicable or request cloud-data deletion.

6) Your controls and deletion

• End a trip with Arrived safe or cancel the session.
• Edit the optional emergency contact or revoke a trusted circle inside Wardline.
• Allow, deny, or revoke location and notification permissions in Android Settings.
• Open Data controls in Wardline and tap Request cloud-data deletion. The server removes your related sessions and trails, circles, invites, user record, messaging token, optional contact data, and anonymous Firebase account.

7) Security and reliability

Network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections, and Firebase security rules restrict records to the authenticated traveler and watcher. No transmission, storage, device, GPS fix, or network is completely secure or continuously available. A watcher should treat an old last-known location as stale, and users should contact local emergency services whenever immediate help may be needed.

8) Children's privacy

Wardline is a general-audience trip utility intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so we can delete it.

9) International processing

Firebase and map services may process data in countries other than your own. Their processing is governed by their terms, privacy documentation, and applicable data-protection safeguards.

10) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Wardline's features or legal requirements change. The current version will remain posted at https://privacy.saifullah.ai/wardline.html, with the effective date updated above.
