Tactile tools, private by design

Privacy Policy - TactiGlyph

Effective date: 2026-07-17

TactiGlyph works fully offline. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. Braille work, practice progress, and recognition results stay on your device unless you deliberately export a file through Android's system document picker.

1) Who we are and what the app does

TactiGlyph is a Braille writing, translation, embossed-page recognition, reference, and practice utility provided by Saifullah Ahad. Website: saifullah.ai. Privacy contact: www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com.

2) Information stored on your device

The app stores only information created through your use of its features: text and Braille work you choose to save, titles, favourites, translation output, practice attempts and skill statistics, and recognition drafts you choose to keep. These records are stored in TactiGlyph's private local database on your Android device. The developer does not receive them.

3) Camera, images, and embossed Braille recognition

TactiGlyph requests the optional Android CAMERA permission only when you choose to photograph embossed Braille. You may instead choose an existing image through Android's system document picker without granting camera access. The selected or captured image is decoded and analysed on your device. TactiGlyph does not upload the image, use cloud recognition, or keep the source photo as a permanent library item. Only recognition output you deliberately save is retained in the app's local database.

Camera and document-picker apps are Android components or third-party apps you choose to open. Their handling of a photo or selected file is governed by their own privacy practices.

4) Translation, speech, and haptics

Braille translation and back-translation run inside TactiGlyph. Read-aloud actions use Android's installed text-to-speech service, and tactile feedback uses Android's haptic service. TactiGlyph does not send text or Braille content to a developer server. The installed speech engine and device settings control any speech voices or language resources outside the app.

5) Permissions and connectivity

TactiGlyph does not request INTERNET, network-state, broad storage, location, contacts, microphone, phone, SMS, calendar, advertising ID, or notification permission. It has no account system, backend, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, in-app purchases, subscriptions, crash-reporting SDK, or user-generated-content service.

6) User-directed exports

You can export work as plain text, Unicode Braille, BRF, or PDF. Android's system save picker asks you to choose the file name and destination. The app does not upload or automatically share an export. After the file is saved outside TactiGlyph, you control it and any later sharing, backup, or deletion through the destination app or storage provider you selected.

7) Data sharing and sale

We do not receive, sell, rent, or share your app data because TactiGlyph does not transmit it. Data can leave the app only through a user-directed system action, such as saving an export or composing an email. External apps and services opened by you operate under their own privacy policies.

8) Retention and deletion

Saved works, favourites, practice statistics, and saved recognition output remain on your device until you delete them, clear TactiGlyph's app storage, or uninstall the app. The developer cannot view or remotely delete these local records. Exported files remain in the destination you chose until you delete them separately.

9) Contact and feedback

An in-app contact action opens your chosen email app using a mailto: link. TactiGlyph does not send the email itself. If you decide to send a message, your email provider processes it and Saifullah Ahad receives the message and your email address so he can respond.

10) Security and accessibility

Android app-private storage limits other apps' access to TactiGlyph's database, but no device is guaranteed secure. Use a device lock and keep Android updated when saved work is sensitive. TactiGlyph is an accessibility and learning aid; recognition and translation output should be reviewed before use where accuracy is important.

11) Children's privacy

TactiGlyph is a general accessibility and education utility and does not collect personal data from children or adults. It contains no account, social feature, advertising, or public content sharing.

12) International data transfers

TactiGlyph does not transfer app data internationally because it has no server connection and does not transmit user content.

13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if TactiGlyph's behavior changes. The current version will remain available at privacy.saifullah.ai/tactiglyph.html, with the effective date updated above.
