2) What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use STEPS (the "App"). We believe in uncompromising privacy. STEPS is designed to work completely offline, and your health and fitness data never leaves your device.
3) Information we collect
Because the app works fully offline, we collect almost nothing. The only data processed is:
- On-device Sensor Data (Not Collected by Us): The app requires the Physical Activity permission (step counter) and POST_NOTIFICATIONS (for background tracking) to count your steps locally on your device. This data is stored securely on your phone and is NEVER transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
- Information you provide (Optional): If you use the "Send Feedback" feature, you may optionally provide your email and a message.
- Crash logs (Local): If the app crashes, local logs may be generated, but they are not automatically sent to us unless you email them.
4) How we use information
- Sensor data is used solely on your device to display your steps, distance, and calories burned.
- Feedback messages are used to communicate with you about support requests or bug fixes.
5) Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. Your fitness data remains solely on your device.
We may share information only in these cases:
- Service providers: Web3Forms is used strictly as an email relay if you submit a feedback form.
- Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
6) Optional in-app feedback messages
Our app includes a Send Feedback option. This feature is fully user-initiated — no message is ever sent unless you tap Send.
If you submit feedback:
- Your message text is delivered to the developer's email inbox.
- Your email address is optional. If you provide it, it is used solely so the developer can reply. If you leave it blank, the message is delivered anonymously and the developer cannot reply.
- A short technical footer is auto-attached to help reproduce bugs: app name, app version, Android version, device manufacturer, and device model. No identifiers, contacts, account data, or fitness data from inside the app are included.
The message is sent to a third-party email-relay service, Web3Forms (privacy policy: https://web3forms.com/privacy), which delivers it to www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com. Web3Forms processes the submission only to relay it; we do not use it for any other purpose. Transmission is encrypted (HTTPS).
7) Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business purposes. Your fitness data is retained on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
8) Your choices and controls
- Permissions: you can allow or deny permissions (Physical Activity, Notifications) in Android settings.
- Deletion: you can delete all your fitness data simply by uninstalling the app or clearing its app data in Android settings.
9) Security
Because your fitness data never leaves your device, it is secured by Android's built-in sandbox protections.
10) Children’s privacy
STEPS is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on our website at https://saifullah.ai and update the effective date above.
