1) Who we are

Sawt is provided by Saifullah ("we", "us", "our"). Our portfolio is at https://saifullah.ai.

2) Scope

This policy explains what information Sawt collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Sawt is an Android media player and volume booster.

3) What we collect

Sawt does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

No account or sign-in is required.
No analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising SDKs are included in the app.
No usage data, device identifiers, or location data is sent anywhere.
Sawt has no servers and does not communicate with any backend run by us.

4) On-device data

Sawt stores the following entirely on your device, accessible only to the app itself:

Your boost level, equalizer settings, bass, virtualizer, balance, mono toggle, reverb preset, playback speed, repeat / shuffle mode, video aspect mode, sort preference, sleep-timer default, and high-boost-warning acknowledgements.
The last playback position for each media file, so playback can resume.
Your favorites list and recent playback history (up to 500 entries).
Playlists you create.

This data never leaves your device. You can clear playback history at any time in the Settings screen, and you can remove all stored data by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's storage in Android Settings.

5) Permissions Sawt requests, and why

READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (Android 13+) or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) — required to list and play the music and video files already on your device. Sawt does not upload these files.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS — required to apply audio effects (LoudnessEnhancer, Equalizer, BassBoost, Virtualizer, PresetReverb, DynamicsProcessing) to the player's audio session.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK — required so playback can continue when the screen is off or you switch apps, with a visible media-controls notification.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — required to show the media-playback notification.
WAKE_LOCK — required to keep audio playing reliably when the screen is off.
INTERNET — declared so the player can stream from a media URL if you explicitly open one. Sawt does not contact any servers run by us.

6) Third-party services

Sawt does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking services. The app uses only Android system APIs and the Google AndroidX libraries (Media3 / Compose / DataStore), which run entirely on-device.

7) Children

Sawt is intended for general audiences (13+). It does not knowingly collect data from anyone. Boosting audio above the system maximum can be unsafe for hearing — supervise younger users.

8) Safety note about volume boosting

Sawt can boost media loudness above the system maximum. Sustained extreme loudness can damage your hearing and your speakers. Sawt shows a warning the first time you cross 200%, and again above 350%. Use low system volume when starting, and never use extreme boost with sensitive in-ear headphones.

9) Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. The latest version is always available at https://privacy.saifullah.ai/sawt.
