Lisan is designed as a private on-device translator. The developer does not collect personal data by default. Feedback is optional and user-initiated.
1. App Overview
Lisan helps users translate typed text, camera text, selected photos, voice input, and simple two-person conversations. The app uses Android and Google ML Kit components for on-device translation, language identification, text recognition, speech recognition, and text-to-speech.
2. Data We Collect
Lisan does not collect personal data by default.
The app stores the following information locally on your device so the app can function:
- Translation history
- Favorite translations
- Selected source and target language defaults
- Auto-detect, auto-speak, and theme settings
This local information is not uploaded to a developer server.
If you choose to send feedback from the About Developer screen, Lisan sends the feedback message you type, your optional reply email address if you enter one, and a basic diagnostic footer containing the app version, Android version, SDK level, device manufacturer, and device model.
3. Camera, Photos, and OCR
Lisan requests camera access only for camera translation. Camera frames and selected photos are processed on the device to detect readable text. Lisan does not upload your camera images or selected photos to a developer server.
4. Microphone and Voice
Lisan requests microphone access only when you tap a voice button in voice or conversation mode. Speech recognition is handled through Android speech services available on your device. Lisan does not record or upload microphone audio to a developer server.
5. Internet Access
Lisan may use internet access to download ML Kit language packs so selected languages can work offline after installation. Internet access is also used if you explicitly submit optional feedback from the About Developer screen.
6. Data Sharing
The developer does not sell Lisan user data. Optional feedback submissions are sent through Web3Forms as the feedback delivery provider only after you tap Send feedback. Lisan does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, Firebase, accounts, or a cloud translation backend.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Local translation history and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. You can clear translation history inside the app. Uninstalling Lisan removes app-local data from your device according to Android behavior. Optional feedback messages remain only as needed to read, reply to, or resolve the feedback. You can request deletion of a feedback message by emailing the contact address below.
8. Children
Lisan is a general translation utility and is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted feedback with personal information, contact the developer so it can be deleted.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if Lisan changes how it handles data. The latest policy will be posted on this page.
