Privacy Policy - GlyphFlow

Effective date: July 13, 2026

1. Introduction and what GlyphFlow does

GlyphFlow is provided by Saifullah Ahad ("we", "us", or "our"). It converts the user's own camera captures, images, PDFs, or pasted text into a configurable reading view with focus guidance, bookmarks, progress, word definitions, and Android text-to-speech.

Important: GlyphFlow is an accessibility reading aid, not a diagnostic, medical, educational-assessment, legal-document, or archival service. Optical character recognition can make mistakes. Users review and may edit recognized text before saving it.

2. Information stored on the device

GlyphFlow stores reviewed document text, titles, source type, page count, reading position, bookmarks, favorites, cached word definitions, and reading preferences in the app's private storage on the user's device. No GlyphFlow account is created.

Private camera captures are kept only as needed to complete the requested import, removed after processing, and removed by startup maintenance if an interrupted import leaves one behind for more than 24 hours. PDF pages are rendered as temporary in-memory bitmaps and recycled during processing. Saved items remain until the user deletes them, clears the library and cache, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls GlyphFlow.

3. Camera, images, PDFs, OCR, and speech

Document content: camera images, imported images, rendered PDF pages, recognized text, edited text, bookmarks, and reading progress are processed and stored on the device. GlyphFlow does not upload document images or document text to the developer.

Google ML Kit: text recognition runs on the device. Google states that ML Kit does not send input images, text, or recognition results to its servers. ML Kit may contact Google for model updates and may collect device and application information, per-installation identifiers, performance and usage metrics, API configuration, input/output size, events, and error codes for diagnostics, analytics, maintenance, improvement, and abuse prevention. This metrics data is encrypted in transit and is not shared by ML Kit with third parties.

Android text-to-speech: GlyphFlow sends the text being read to the text-to-speech engine selected on the device. Data handling depends on that engine and voice. Offline voices normally process speech on the device; a network-based voice may contact its provider under that provider's privacy policy. GlyphFlow does not receive a copy of that provider traffic.

4. Dictionary lookup and network information

When the user taps a word and requests a definition that is not already cached, GlyphFlow sends only that selected word over HTTPS to the public service at dictionaryapi.dev. The service receives the requested word and ordinary network information such as the user's IP address. No surrounding sentence, document, title, bookmark, or reading profile is sent. Successful definitions may be cached on the device for faster and offline reuse.

GlyphFlow has no developer-operated document server, analytics dashboard, advertising service, account system, or cloud synchronization.

5. Permissions

GlyphFlow uses Android's system picker for photos and PDFs and does not request broad storage access.

6. Sharing, security, retention, and deletion

We do not sell personal data. The app connects directly only to dictionaryapi.dev when the related feature is used, Google ML Kit / Google Play services for on-device OCR support and the metrics described above, and the user's chosen text-to-speech engine when speech is used.

Network requests use HTTPS, cleartext traffic is disabled, and the app's private files, database, and preferences are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. A user can delete one document, clear the local library and dictionary cache from GlyphFlow, clear app storage through Android Settings, or uninstall the app. Document deletion also removes its bookmarks and stored progress.

7. Feedback and contact initiated by the user

Send Feedback opens the user's email app with a draft addressed to www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com. Nothing is sent automatically. If the user sends an email, the developer receives the content the user chooses to include and retains it only as needed to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain support records. The sender can request deletion at the same address.

8. Children's privacy

GlyphFlow is a general-audience reading utility and is not directed to children under 13. It has no public profiles, chat, social feed, advertising, or user-generated-content publishing. If you believe a child has sent personal information through a support email, contact us so it can be deleted.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when GlyphFlow, its libraries, or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will remain published at https://privacy.saifullah.ai/glyphflow.html.
