Privacy Policy for BatonRide: School Carpool

1. Introduction

Saifullah Ahad ("we", "us", or "our") built the BatonRide: School Carpool app as a completely Free app. This SERVICE is provided by Saifullah Ahad at no cost and is intended for use as is.

2. Data Collection and Usage

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information:

• Name: Your guardian display name is collected for app functionality and account management. This is required while using a profile.
• App Interactions: We collect assignments, availability, trip hand-offs, and completed turns for app functionality, security, and fraud prevention.
• User-Generated Content: Rider names/notes, cover reasons, and safety reports are collected for app functionality, safety, and moderation.
• Device or other IDs: Anonymous Firebase user ID and FCM notification tokens are collected for account management, app functionality, and to deliver push notifications.

3. Data Sharing

Data is shared with invited members only as the user-directed purpose of the private circle. Firebase/Google Cloud acts as the authentication, database, and messaging service provider. A Cloudflare Worker relay verifies the Firebase ID token and committed event, reads current circle membership, and processes recipient FCM device tokens only to deliver push notifications and remove invalid tokens.

The app never supplies a trusted recipient list. No data is used for advertising or marketing.

4. Data Deletion

You can request the deletion of your data at any time by using the in-app account deletion feature or by contacting us.

5. Required Permissions

The app requires the following permissions:

• Internet: For Firebase authentication, circle synchronization, and notification relay.
• Post Notifications: Requested after a guardian joins or creates a circle to deliver run and cover updates.

We do not collect or retain a location/GPS trail.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
