Room-surface evidence, under your control
Privacy Policy - VaporSill
VaporSill keeps your building investigation on your device. It sends only a place search and the coordinates you select to Open-Meteo when you use forecast comparisons. It has no developer server, account, analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK.
1) Who we are and what the app does
VaporSill is a damp and condensation investigation workspace provided by Saifullah Ahad. It calculates dew point and surface-moisture screening values from readings you enter, compares indoor and public forecast moisture, models before-and-after scenarios, and creates user-directed reports. Website: saifullah.ai. Privacy contact: www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com.
2) Information stored on your device
VaporSill stores the homes or buildings, rooms, air temperature, relative humidity, surface temperature, surface labels, observations, notes, selected photo references, saved intervention experiments, chosen forecast place, and cached weather hours that you create or request. These records are held in the app's private local database. The developer cannot view them.
A selected photo remains in the source you chose. VaporSill stores an Android reference to that item; it does not copy the photo into a developer server or upload it to Open-Meteo.
3) Information sent when you use weather features
Weather features are optional. When you search for a city or postal code, VaporSill sends that typed query to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API. When you select a result or refresh it, the selected latitude and longitude are sent to the Open-Meteo Forecast API to retrieve hourly temperature and relative humidity.
VaporSill does not request Android location permission, read GPS, or automatically determine your position. You may select any reference place. As with ordinary internet requests, Open-Meteo and its network providers may receive technical request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, and user-agent. Their processing is governed by Open-Meteo's own terms and privacy information.
4) Calculations, scope, and health information
Dew point, absolute humidity, surface relative humidity, condensation margin, and modeled intervention values are calculated in the app. VaporSill does not upload indoor readings for these calculations. Labels are educational screening evidence only; they do not detect mold, identify a species, diagnose a health condition, certify a building, or replace professional inspection, repair, medical, or emergency advice.
5) Permissions and device access
INTERNET: used only for user-initiated Open-Meteo place search and forecast refresh.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: used to support clear network-state behavior around those requests.
Android's Photo Picker and document picker give VaporSill access only to the photo or file you choose. The app does not request broad photo, media, or storage permission. It also does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, phone, SMS, calendar, notification, background-location, or advertising-ID permission.
6) Reports, backups, and user-directed files
You may create a PDF investigation brief or a JSON backup. Android's system document picker asks you to choose the name and destination. VaporSill does not automatically upload or share these files. A JSON import is validated before it replaces the current local workspace. Files saved outside VaporSill remain under your control and the policies of the storage provider you selected.
7) Android backup and device transfer
If encrypted Android backup or device transfer is enabled for your device and account, Android may include and later restore VaporSill's local database. This is controlled by Android and your backup settings, not by a VaporSill developer server. You can manage device backups through Android and your Google account settings.
8) Advertising, analytics, accounts, and sale
VaporSill has no account or sign-in, advertising, advertising ID, in-app purchase, subscription, analytics SDK, profiling, tracking, crash-reporting SDK, social feature, public posting, or user-to-user communication. We do not sell or rent personal information.
9) Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete the relevant record, clear VaporSill's app storage, or uninstall the app. The developer cannot remotely access or delete local records. Cached weather is replaced by later refreshes or removed with app data. Exports remain in their chosen destination until you delete them there. Open-Meteo controls retention of request metadata it receives.
10) Contact and feedback
In-app feedback opens your chosen email app with a mailto: link. VaporSill does not send a message automatically and does not use a network form. If you decide to send an email, your email provider processes it and Saifullah Ahad receives the message and sender address so he can respond.
11) Children's privacy
VaporSill is a general household utility intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, contains no account, advertising, social interaction, or public content, and is not designed or marketed for children.
12) Security
Android app-private storage limits other apps' access to VaporSill's database, internet requests use HTTPS, and cleartext network traffic is disabled. No device or transmission method is guaranteed completely secure. Protect sensitive building notes with a device lock and delete exports you no longer need.
13) International processing
Open-Meteo infrastructure and your chosen email or storage provider may process a user-directed request in countries outside your own. Local room and measurement records are not sent to VaporSill's developer.
14) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if VaporSill's behavior changes. The current version will remain available at privacy.saifullah.ai/VaporSill.html, with the effective date updated above.
15) Contact
For privacy questions, contact Saifullah Ahad at www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com, visit saifullah.ai, or call +880 1711-134346.
Practical reminder: Fix active leaks and visible water promptly. VaporSill's calculations help organize observations; they do not prove a cause or safe condition.
