2) What this policy covers
This policy explains what information SkillSeed processes, how it is used, and what choices you have.
3) Information we process
Most SkillSeed usage is local on your device.
- Local app data: downloaded content packs, bookmarks, recent articles, and settings saved on your device.
- Technical app state: app version and configuration needed to run core features.
- Optional network request data: when you run update checks/downloads, your chosen update server may receive standard request metadata (for example IP address) as part of normal web traffic.
SkillSeed does not require account creation and does not include advertising SDKs.
4) How we use information
- Provide offline reading, searching, bookmarking, and recents features.
- Apply your preferences such as language, large text mode, and update settings.
- Check and download content updates only when you trigger update features.
- Maintain app reliability and content integrity checks.
5) Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share in-app local content to third-party analytics or ads SDKs from the app.
If you configure an update server URL, update requests are sent to that server to fetch manifests and pack files.
6) Third-party services and SDKs
- No ads SDK: no advertising SDK is bundled.
- No analytics/crash reporting SDK: no analytics or crash reporting SDK is bundled.
- Google Play distribution: the app is distributed through Google Play, which may process data under Google Play terms and policies.
7) Permissions
- INTERNET: used for optional update checks and pack downloads.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): used only for optional update availability notifications when enabled.
SkillSeed does not request camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or location permissions for core features.
8) Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you remove it (for example by clearing app data, uninstalling the app, or deleting old pack versions inside the app).
9) Your choices and controls
- Use SkillSeed offline without enabling update features.
- Choose whether periodic update checks are enabled.
- Change language and accessibility settings in-app.
- Delete local app data from Android app settings at any time.
10) Security
SkillSeed validates downloaded content integrity before installation and uses safe file handling to reduce corruption and unsafe archive extraction risks.
11) Children's privacy
SkillSeed is a general audience educational app and is not designed to collect personal data from children.
12) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. Updates will be published on the privacy hub page and reflected by a new effective date.
