Resaka Privacy Policy

How Resaka handles speech, translated conversation turns, nearby pairing, and local transcripts.

Effective date: August 1, 2026

1. What Resaka does

Resaka helps two people who use different languages hold one shared conversation on two nearby Android phones. Each phone performs speech recognition, translation, back-checking, and speech playback on the device. The phones can exchange conversation events directly over the same local Wi-Fi network or hotspot.

Resaka is provided by Saifullah Ahad. It has no account system, advertising, analytics, developer-operated conversation server, or cloud transcript store.

2. Data Resaka handles

Microphone audio

If you grant microphone permission and hold the talk control, Android's on-device speech recognizer processes your voice. Resaka does not record, save, upload, or include audio in a transcript. The temporary audio buffer is discarded by the recognition process.

Conversation text and evidence

Recognized or typed source text, translated text, back-translations, confidence evidence, repair status, languages, timing, and event identifiers are handled to present the conversation. Completed turns are stored in Resaka's private local database on each participating phone.

Nearby connection information

While pairing, Resaka uses Android Network Service Discovery and a local network socket. Local IP addresses, a temporary service name, ephemeral cryptographic public keys, and connection state are used to establish the session. They are not added to the saved transcript. The six-digit pairing code is entered or displayed locally and is not sent over the network.

Settings and language models

Your language choices and download preference are saved locally. When you explicitly install a language pack, the app asks Google ML Kit to download that model. Conversation text is not sent with a model-download request.

3. How this data is used

4. Data sharing and service providers

Paired phone: conversation text and its associated translation evidence are shared directly with the nearby phone you deliberately pair. Session traffic is authenticated and encrypted with an ephemeral key derived from both phones and the verified pairing code. The developer does not receive this traffic.

Google ML Kit: Resaka uses ML Kit Translation to download user-selected language models. After installation, Resaka calls the translator on the device; it does not send conversation text to a developer server.

Android system services: Resaka uses Android's on-device speech recognizer and text-to-speech engine. If speech support for the selected language is not ready, Resaka may ask the installed speech service to download that language model; this request includes the selected language tag, not microphone audio or transcript text. If you share a transcript or send feedback, Android opens an app you choose. Information then goes only to the recipient and service you select under that service's terms.

Resaka does not sell data and does not include advertising, behavioral tracking, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

5. Retention and deletion

Microphone audio is not retained by Resaka. Active pairing keys and socket state exist only for the current connection. Completed conversation turns remain in the local app database until you delete the transcript.

To delete one transcript, open Saved conversations, select it, choose Delete transcript, and confirm. Uninstalling Resaka or clearing its app storage removes all Resaka settings, downloaded-app records, and locally saved transcripts from that phone. A transcript already shared with another person must be deleted separately by that recipient.

6. Send feedback

The Send feedback action opens your chosen email app with the public developer address. Resaka does not transmit feedback itself. If you send the email, your email provider and the developer receive the content and address you choose to include. Avoid attaching private conversation text unless it is necessary and you have permission to share it.

7. Children's privacy

Resaka is a general communication utility and is not directed to children under 13. It has no accounts, public profiles, open discovery, public posts, or stranger messaging. If a parent or guardian believes a child has emailed personal information to the developer, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.

Important-use note

Automated speech recognition and translation can be wrong. Confirm names, amounts, dates, medicine, safety instructions, and legal terms together. Resaka is not a medical device, professional interpreter, emergency service, legal service, or contract verifier.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Resaka's features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will identify the current version.
