Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
PlateWise is a meal and nutrition tracking app. It helps you log meals, search foods, estimate daily calorie and macro targets, and review simple meal ideas. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
2. Data We Collect
PlateWise does not require an account. The app uses the following information only for its features:
- Meal log data: Food names, meal type, serving size, calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sodium, and the date of the entry. This is stored locally on your device.
- Profile settings: Weight, height, age, body type, goal mode, and activity level. This is stored locally on your device and used to estimate nutrition targets.
- Food search and barcode lookup: Search terms or barcode numbers you enter may be sent to Open Food Facts to return matching food data.
- Optional feedback: If you tap "Send feedback" and submit a message, the message text is sent to the developer through Web3Forms. Your email address is optional.
- Feedback technical footer: Feedback messages automatically include app name, app version, Android version, device manufacturer, and device model to help reproduce bugs.
PlateWise does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call log, notification, or all-files access permissions.
3. How We Use the Data
- To calculate and display your daily calorie and macro targets.
- To keep your meal log available inside the app.
- To search food databases and barcode records when you request it.
- To respond to feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas you choose to send.
- To troubleshoot app issues using the feedback technical footer.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your data. PlateWise uses these third-party services only for app functionality:
- Open Food Facts: Used for food search and barcode lookup. Search terms or barcode numbers are sent only when you use those lookup features.
- Web3Forms: Used to relay optional feedback messages to the developer's email inbox. Web3Forms privacy policy: https://web3forms.com/privacy.
All network requests use HTTPS.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Meal logs and profile settings stay on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall PlateWise. Feedback messages are retained in the developer support inbox only as long as needed for support and app improvement.
You can request deletion of feedback messages by emailing www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com. If you provided an email address in the feedback form, include that address so we can locate your message.
6. Send Feedback Feature
If you tap "Send feedback" in the About screen and submit a message, the message text is sent to Web3Forms, which delivers it to the developer's email inbox. A short technical footer is attached automatically: app name, app version, Android version, device manufacturer, and device model. No identifiers, contacts, accounts, or meal log contents are attached.
Email address is optional. If you provide it, it is used only so the developer can reply. If you leave it blank, the message is delivered without an email address.
This feature is fully user-initiated. No feedback is sent unless you tap Send.
7. Children's Privacy
PlateWise is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the feedback feature, contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The updated page will show the new effective date.
