Privacy Policy — Lipi
1) Who we are
Lipi is provided by Saifullah Ahad ("we", "us", "our"). Our website is: https://saifullah.ai.
2) What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information Lipi (the "App") handles when you use it as your Android keyboard (Input Method Editor / IME).
3) Information Lipi handles
Lipi does not collect, transmit, or store any data outside your device.
As a keyboard, Lipi necessarily processes the text you type so it can show characters, suggestions, and transliteration on screen. This processing happens entirely on your device. Lipi does not send your typed text, words you learn, settings, or any other information to any server, cloud service, or third party.
Lipi does not contain analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
4) On-device storage
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Your settings (theme, layout choice, sound, vibration, autocorrect, etc.).
- A local user dictionary of words you frequently type, used to improve suggestions on your device. You can view, add, delete individual entries, or clear the entire dictionary at any time in Settings → ব্যবহারকারী অভিধান.
- Custom snippets (quick text) you create yourself.
- A short clipboard history shown above the keyboard while it is open. This list is cleared when the keyboard closes and never leaves the device.
5) Password fields, OTPs, and sensitive input
When you focus a password field or other sensitive field, Android marks it as "no personalised learning". Lipi respects this signal: text typed in such fields is not added to the on-device user dictionary and not used for personalised suggestions.
6) Voice typing
If you tap the microphone button, Lipi launches the device's system voice-recognition feature (provided by Google or another system component you have installed). Lipi itself does not record, store, or transmit audio. Whether voice audio is processed on-device or in the cloud is determined by the system speech-recognition service you use, not by Lipi.
7) Permissions
Lipi requests only the standard permission required for any Android keyboard:
- BIND_INPUT_METHOD — required by Android to act as a system keyboard.
Lipi does not request internet, location, camera, contacts, microphone, storage, or any other permission. The keyboard itself does not access the network.
8) Sharing and disclosure
We do not share, sell, or disclose any of your data. Since no data leaves your device, there is nothing to share.
9) Data retention
Your settings, learned words, and snippets remain on your device for as long as you keep Lipi installed. You can clear the user dictionary at any time inside the app, and uninstalling Lipi permanently removes all stored data from your device.
10) Children's privacy
Lipi is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on our website at https://privacy.saifullah.ai/Lipi and update the effective date above.
