Wi-Fi survey evidence stays with you

Privacy Policy - LinkContour

Effective date: 2026-07-18

LinkContour works fully offline. It stores floor-plan references, nearby Wi-Fi observations, measurements, comparisons, and reports under your control. It has no internet permission, developer server, account, analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK.

No account No transmission No background scan

1) Who we are and what the app does

LinkContour is a private Wi-Fi survey workstation provided by Saifullah Ahad. It maps foreground Wi-Fi radio observations onto a floor plan, calculates signal contours and channel pressure, compares separate survey passes, and creates user-directed CSV or PDF reports. Website: saifullah.ai. Privacy contact: www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com.

2) Information stored on your device

LinkContour stores survey names, room dimensions, optional floor-plan references, measurement positions, Wi-Fi network names (SSIDs), access-point identifiers (BSSIDs), signal strength, frequency, channel, and capture time. These records remain in the app's private local database. The developer cannot view or remotely access them.

An imported floor plan remains in the source you selected. LinkContour stores Android's local reference to that image so it can display the plan; it does not upload the image or copy it to a developer server.

3) Wi-Fi scans and Android location permission

LinkContour reads nearby access-point results only while the app is visible and you are working with the survey. Android protects the WifiManager.getScanResults() and startScan() APIs with precise-location permission, including on current Android versions. For that reason, LinkContour requests foreground ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION together with ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION.

LinkContour does not call GPS or other location-provider APIs, does not determine or store latitude/longitude, and does not scan in the background. Wi-Fi SSIDs and BSSIDs can still be location-sensitive, so the app treats them as private local survey evidence.

4) Permissions and device access

LinkContour does not request INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, background location, broad storage, camera, microphone, contacts, phone, SMS, calendar, notification, or advertising-ID permission. Android's document picker grants access only to an image or export destination you choose.

5) Calculations and scope

Signal bands, inverse-distance contour interpolation, channel-pressure scores, confidence labels, averages, and before/after findings are calculated on the device. Results depend on device hardware, walls, interference, network configuration, time, point placement, and survey method. LinkContour is a practical troubleshooting aid, not professional RF certification, safety assurance, or a router-configuration service.

6) Exports and sharing

You may create a CSV measurement table or PDF survey report. Android's system document picker asks you to select the file name and destination. LinkContour does not upload, email, or share a file automatically. Once saved outside the app, that file remains under your control and the policies of any storage provider you selected.

7) Data collection, sharing, sale, and advertising

LinkContour does not transmit app data to the developer or any third party. It contains no account, advertising, advertising ID, in-app purchase, subscription, analytics SDK, profiling, tracking, crash-reporting SDK, social feature, public posting, or user-to-user communication. We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your survey information.

8) Retention, deletion, and backup

Local records remain until you delete a measurement or survey, clear LinkContour's app storage, or uninstall the app. The developer cannot remotely retrieve or delete them. Exported files remain in the destination you selected until you delete them there. Android app backup is disabled for LinkContour, so its private database is not included in ordinary Android cloud backup.

9) Feedback and external links

In-app feedback opens your chosen email app with a mailto: link. LinkContour does not send a message automatically and has no network form. If you decide to send an email, your email provider processes it and Saifullah Ahad receives the message and sender address so he can respond. Portfolio, privacy-policy, and Play Store links open only after your action in an external app.

10) Children's privacy

LinkContour is a general household and small-workspace utility, not designed or marketed specifically for children. It has no account, advertising, public content, social interaction, or developer-side collection of personal information.

11) Security

Android app-private storage limits other apps' access to LinkContour's database, cleartext network traffic is disabled, and the app has no internet permission. No device or storage method is guaranteed completely secure. Protect sensitive floor plans and network identifiers with a device lock, and delete exports you no longer need.

12) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if LinkContour's behavior changes. The current version will remain available at privacy.saifullah.ai/LinkContour.html, with the effective date updated above.

13) Contact

For privacy questions, contact Saifullah Ahad at www.saifullah.ai@gmail.com or visit saifullah.ai.

Plain-language summary: LinkContour can read nearby Wi-Fi evidence only after Android permission is granted. The app keeps that evidence local and cannot transmit it because it has no internet permission.
