This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use Kanzly (the "App") — a smart document scanner for Android.
3) Information we collect
Kanzly is completely free — no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no hidden fees. Every feature is available to every user.
Kanzly is a fully local, offline app. We do not require an account and do not upload your documents or data to any server.
The following data is used solely on your device to make the app work:
- Camera: used to capture document photos for scanning. Images are processed locally and saved to your device only.
- Storage / Media access: used to save scanned documents, thumbnails, and exported PDF files to your device. Also used to import images from your gallery.
- Biometric data: if you enable the biometric app lock, your fingerprint or face is verified by your device's own secure hardware. Kanzly never reads, stores, or transmits biometric data.
- Document content: text extracted via OCR (English & Bengali) and notes or tags you add are stored locally in the app's private database on your device only.
- Device & technical data: device model, OS version, and app version may be included in crash reports to help us fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included.
Kanzly does not collect: location, contacts, call logs, microphone data, browsing history, or any other sensitive information.
4) How we use information
- Scan and process document images entirely on your device using on-device OCR.
- Organize your scanned documents into categories, tags, favorites, and notes — all stored locally.
- Export documents as PDF files saved to your device's Downloads folder.
- Verify your identity via biometric lock using your device's own secure hardware (nothing is sent to us).
- Analyze crash reports (device/OS/app version only) to identify and fix stability issues.
5) Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your documents, extracted text, or any app content with third parties.
We may share limited technical data only in these cases:
- Crash reporting: anonymous crash logs (no document content, no personal data) may be sent to help us fix bugs.
- Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business changes: if the app is reorganized or transferred, we will provide notice where required.
6) Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business purposes (such as troubleshooting, security, and compliance). You may request deletion as described below.
7) Your choices and controls
- Permissions: you can allow or deny permissions (camera, location, etc.) in Android settings.
- Access & correction: you can request access to or correction of your information where applicable.
- Deletion: you can request deletion of your account/data by contacting us.
8) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
9) Children's privacy
Kanzly is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you access the app from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred across borders. We take steps to protect information in accordance with this policy.
