Privacy Policy - JeriNest
JeriNest is designed as an offline-first gallery app. This policy explains how data is handled.
1) Who we are
JeriNest is provided by the app developer listed on its Google Play page.
Privacy contact: Use the developer contact shown on Google Play for this app.
2) What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information JeriNest accesses on your device, how it is used, and your controls.
3) Information we access
- Photo library metadata and image content that you allow through Android permissions, used only for local gallery browsing, indexing, similarity, and categorization.
- Local app settings and local index data stored on your device (for example category assignments and feature index data).
JeriNest does not require Internet permission for core operation.
4) How information is used
- Display your gallery and image metadata.
- Run on-device indexing, similarity matching, OCR-based routing, and category filtering.
- Store your category choices and app preferences locally.
5) Sharing and disclosure
JeriNest is offline-first and does not send your photos or index data to remote servers as part of core app behavior.
There is no in-app advertising SDK, analytics upload path, or cloud API call in normal operation.
6) On-device libraries
- Google ML Kit Text Recognition (on-device) for local OCR tasks.
- TensorFlow Lite for local embedding and similarity features.
These components are used on device for local processing in this app flow.
7) Data retention
Local index and category data remains on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the app, or use in-app reset options such as rebuild/clear features where available.
8) Permissions
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+): read image library for gallery and indexing features.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below): legacy equivalent for older Android versions.
9) Your choices and controls
- You can deny or revoke photo permissions in Android settings.
- You can use in-app settings to disable indexing and auto-categorization features.
- You can uninstall the app to remove local app data from your device.
10) Security
Reasonable safeguards are used for local data handling. No method is perfect, but the app is designed to minimize unnecessary data exposure by running core intelligence on device.
11) Children’s privacy
JeriNest is not specifically directed to children under 13.
12) Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top will be updated when changes are published.
