Privacy Policy - HeatNudge
1) Who we are
HeatNudge is provided by Saifullah Ahad ("we", "us", "our"). Learn more at saifullah.ai.
2) What HeatNudge does
HeatNudge is an outdoor heat-planning app. You manually choose a city or place, review live forecast conditions, compare task-aware outdoor windows, and optionally save and share a planning brief.
Safety scope: HeatNudge provides weather-based screening estimates only. It does not measure worksite WBGT, diagnose illness, provide a workplace compliance decision, replace professional guidance, or guarantee safety.
3) Information handled by the app
HeatNudge has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or developer-operated backend.
- Place search: city or place text that you type is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service.
- Selected location: the selected place name and approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to request forecast data.
- Task settings: duration, workload, sun exposure, clothing load, and acclimatization choices are processed in the app to create a screening estimate.
- Saved sessions: plans you explicitly save are stored locally on your device.
HeatNudge does not request Android device-location permission and does not obtain GPS location. It does not collect contacts, photos, files, microphone audio, camera data, advertising IDs, or health records.
4) Network requests and Open-Meteo
Place-search text and selected coordinates are transmitted over HTTPS directly to Open-Meteo so its geocoding and weather APIs can return results. The developer does not receive those requests.
Open-Meteo operates independently and may process technical request information such as an IP address according to its own terms and privacy information. HeatNudge does not use that information for advertising or tracking.
5) Local storage
The selected place, most recently cached forecast, and saved planning sessions remain in HeatNudge's private app storage on your device. Planner choices that are not saved are held only for the current app session.
Use More > Delete local data to remove the selected place, cached forecast, and every saved session. Clearing app storage or uninstalling HeatNudge also removes local data.
6) Permissions
INTERNET: loads place-search and weather forecast data.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: helps the app present useful cached/offline behavior.
HeatNudge does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, notifications, calendar, phone, SMS, or storage permission.
7) Sharing and feedback
The share action opens Android's system chooser with a planning brief that you can review and choose where to send. HeatNudge does not send it automatically.
The feedback action opens your chosen email app using a mailto: link. No feedback leaves the device unless you compose and send an email. The app does not use a web form or email-relay service.
8) Selling or sharing personal information
We do not sell personal information. HeatNudge has no advertising, analytics, social feed, data broker, or cross-app tracking. Open-Meteo acts as the external geocoding and weather service needed for the app's core functionality.
9) Security and retention
Network requests use HTTPS. Local data remains within Android's private app storage. We do not retain HeatNudge data on developer servers because there is no developer backend.
10) Your controls
- Change the selected place at any time.
- Delete individual saved sessions.
- Use Delete local data to reset all locally stored HeatNudge data.
- Clear storage or uninstall the app through Android Settings.
11) Children's privacy
HeatNudge is intended for adults planning outdoor work or activities and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12) International processing
Open-Meteo may process API requests in infrastructure outside your country. HTTPS is used in transit. No HeatNudge account or developer-hosted user profile exists.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app's practices change. The current version will remain at privacy.saifullah.ai/HeatNudge.html with an updated effective date.
