- App activity: Feature usage and in-app settings (language preference, low-data mode, saved/bookmarked places). These are stored locally on your device.
- Device & technical data: Device model, OS version, app version, and language for troubleshooting and compatibility.
4) How we use information
- Show community resources (free clinics, food banks, shelters, orphanages, blood donation centers) near your location.
- Allow authenticated users to contribute new places, suggest edits, and vote on verification.
- Store your bookmarked places locally for offline access.

6) Permissions explained
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Used to find community resources near your current location. You can deny this permission and still search by category or keyword. Location is never shared with third parties.
- INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to fetch place listings from our servers and check network availability for online/offline mode switching.
7) Data retention
Bookmarked places and preferences are stored locally on your device and persist until you clear app data or uninstall. If you create an account (phone OTP login), your account data is retained on our servers until you request deletion. Contributed places remain in the directory to serve other users, but your personal account information can be removed upon request.
8) Your choices and controls
- Permissions: You can allow or deny location permission in Android settings at any time. The app works without location (you can search by keyword or category).
- Account: Login is optional. You can use the app fully (browse, search, save places) without creating an account.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and contributed data by contacting us at the email below.
- Offline data: Bookmarked places are stored locally. Clear app data in Android settings to remove them.
9) Security
All network requests use encryption in transit (HTTPS). We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
10) Children's privacy
Find Help Near Me is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
