Privacy Policy — Dawaa

1) Who we are

Dawaa is provided by Saifullah ("we", "us", "our"), an independent developer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Our portfolio and website: https://saifullah.ai.

2) What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information Dawaa collects (if any), how it is used, and the choices you have when you use the Dawaa Android app (package name: ai.saifullah.dawaa).

3) Information we collect

Dawaa stores your data locally on your device by default. The only information that ever leaves your device is a feedback message you actively choose to send (see Section 5b).

All data you interact with — including your medication list, reminder schedules, adherence logs, and app preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using Android's local database (Room) and DataStore. We do not have access to it.

Dawaa does not automatically collect:

• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, device ID)
• Usage analytics or app telemetry
• Automatic or background crash reports
• Location data
• Health or biometric data sent off the device
• Payment or financial data
• Advertising identifiers

Dawaa has no analytics SDK (no Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Amplitude), no ad network, no authentication service, and no backend server of our own. The app has internet access only to deliver the optional feedback described in Section 5b; it is not used to track you or transmit your medication data.

4) How we use information

Since no data leaves your device, we do not use your information for any external purpose. Data stored locally (your medications, reminders, and logs) is used exclusively to:

• Display your saved medications and reminders within the app
• Fire pill reminder notifications at the times you set
• Show your weekly adherence statistics
• Remember your language preference and app settings

5) Sharing and disclosure

We never sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.

We share data with a third party in exactly one case: if you choose to send feedback, your message (and optional email) is delivered through Web3Forms, an email-relay service (see Section 5b). Aside from that, no data is transmitted off your device.

There are no tracking or advertising SDKs in Dawaa. The libraries used are: Room (local database), DataStore Preferences (local settings), WorkManager (background task support), Hilt (dependency injection), Jetpack Compose + Navigation (UI framework), Coil (local image loading), and standard AndroidX libraries. None of these transmit your data externally.

5b) Optional feedback you choose to send

The About screen includes a "Send feedback" option. It is entirely optional and user-initiated — nothing is sent unless you type a message and tap Send.

When you send feedback, the following is delivered to the developer:

• Your message text.
• Your email address — only if you choose to provide it (optional; used solely so the developer can reply). Leave it blank to send anonymously.
• A short technical footer to help reproduce bugs: app name, app version, Android version, and device manufacturer + model. No identifiers, contacts, or medication data are included.

Messages are delivered via Web3Forms (privacy policy: https://web3forms.com/privacy), an email-relay service that forwards the message to the developer's inbox over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We do not store feedback on any server of our own.

6) Permissions — what they are used for

Dawaa requests the following Android permissions:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — Required to show pill reminder notifications. Without this, reminders cannot appear on your screen.
• USE_EXACT_ALARM (Android 13+) / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM (Android 12) — Required to fire your medication reminders at the exact time you set. Exact timing is core to a reminder app.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Allows the app to reschedule your reminders automatically after your device restarts.
• INTERNET — Used only to deliver the optional feedback you choose to send (Section 5b). It is not used to track you or transmit your medication data.

All permissions are used solely for their stated purpose — delivering timely medication reminders. No permission is used to collect data. You can review and change any permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Dawaa → Permissions.

7) Data retention

Your medication data, reminders, and logs are stored locally on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling Dawaa removes all locally stored data. No data is retained on our servers because none is ever sent there.

8) Your choices and controls

• Permissions: Allow or deny any permission in Android Settings at any time.
• Data deletion: Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from your device.
• Language: Change the app language at any time in Settings within the app.
• Reminders: You can create reminders and manage reminder permissions in Android Settings.

9) Security

Dawaa stores your data locally, protected by your device's own storage security (Android sandbox) and, on supported devices, hardware-backed encryption. The only data that leaves your device is feedback you choose to send, which is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We do not operate a server that stores your data.

10) Children's privacy

Dawaa is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect data automatically, this risk is minimal, but parents and guardians are advised to supervise app usage for young children.

We may update this Privacy Policy when material changes occur (for example, if a new feature introduces a new type of data handling). We will post the updated policy at https://privacy.saifullah.ai/Dawaa and update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
