Privacy Policy — BazarBoard

1) Who we are

BazarBoard is provided by Saifullah ("we", "us", "our"), an independent developer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Our portfolio and website: https://saifullah.ai.

2) What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use BazarBoard (the "App") — a community-powered market price tracking app for Bangladesh.

3) Information we collect

BazarBoard collects only the minimum information needed to provide its core features:

• Price submissions you provide: The item name, price amount, market name, area/neighborhood, optional notes, and the timestamp of your submission. This data is shared with other app users as its purpose is community price sharing.
• Anonymous device identifier: A randomly generated device ID (not linked to your name, email, or any personal account) used to enforce submission rate limits and prevent abuse. This ID cannot identify you personally.
• Location data (optional, if you grant permission): If you choose to use the "Use my GPS location" feature, the app reads your current GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) and attaches them to your price submission so the market location is recorded accurately. Location is read once per submission — it is never tracked in the background, never stored independently of a submission, and never shared beyond the submission record.
• App usage data: Anonymous usage patterns may be recorded by Firebase services (see Section 5) for reliability and crash diagnostics. This does not include personally identifiable information.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information. No account registration is required or supported.

4) How we use information

• Display community-submitted price data to all users of the app.
• Calculate and show price averages, trends, and area comparisons.
• Enforce per-device daily submission limits to prevent spam and abuse.
• Tag price submissions with an approximate market location (only when you grant GPS access).
• Maintain app reliability and diagnose technical issues.

5) Third-party services and data sharing

We do not sell your information. We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — used for anonymous sign-in only. No email, no password, and no personal credentials are created or stored. Privacy policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Firebase Firestore (Google LLC) — used to store and sync community price submissions across devices. All data transmitted to Firestore is the price submission data described in Section 3. Privacy policy: same as above.
• Google Play Services Location (Google LLC) — used only when you tap "Use my GPS location" in the price submission form. The location read is used solely to populate the latitude/longitude fields of your submission. It is not used for any other purpose. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

We may share information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the public. In the event the app is reorganized or transferred, we will provide advance notice where required.

6) Permissions used by the app

• INTERNET — required to sync price data with Firestore (cloud storage).
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used to detect whether the device is online so the app can correctly switch between offline and online modes.
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — optional. Requested only when you tap "Use my GPS location." You can deny this permission and type your area manually instead. Location is never accessed in the background.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — reserved for future price alert notifications. Not currently active. No notifications are sent by this version of the app.

7) Data retention

Price submission data is stored in Firebase Firestore and retained to maintain the community price database. Anonymous device identifiers are stored in local device storage (DataStore) and are cleared if you uninstall the app or clear app data. If you wish to request deletion of data associated with your anonymous device ID, contact us at the email below.

8) Your choices and controls

• Location permission: you can deny or revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → BazarBoard → Permissions. The app continues to function fully without location access.
• Notifications permission: you can deny or revoke notification permission at any time. No notifications are currently sent by the app.
• Data deletion: to request deletion of data associated with your anonymous device ID, contact us via email with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process the request within a reasonable time.
• Clear local data: go to Android Settings → Apps → BazarBoard → Storage → Clear Data to remove all locally cached prices and reset your anonymous ID.

9) Security

All data transmitted between the app and Firebase is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We use anonymous identifiers by design to minimize the risk of personal data exposure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable technical safeguards to protect your data.

10) Children's privacy

BazarBoard is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the app, please contact us so we can remove it.

11) International data transfers

Data submitted through BazarBoard is processed and stored by Google Firebase, which may operate servers in multiple countries. By using the app, you acknowledge that your submission data may be transferred to and stored in servers outside Bangladesh. We rely on Google's data processing agreements to maintain appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
