Basira: Decision Journal is designed as a private, local-only decision journal.

Information We Collect

Basira does not collect personal information automatically. The only information that ever leaves your device is a feedback message that you choose to write and send (see “Optional Feedback” below).

Decision entries that you create in the app are stored locally on your device. These entries can include the decision title, decision text, reasoning, expected outcome, alternatives considered, confidence, importance, review date, actual outcome, and lesson learned.

How Your Data Is Used

Your decision entries are used only to show and manage your journal inside the app.

Basira does not use your entries for advertising, analytics, profiling, or external processing.

Optional Feedback

If you tap “Send Feedback” on the About screen and submit a message, the message text is sent to a third-party email-relay service (Web3Forms, https://web3forms.com, privacy policy: https://web3forms.com/privacy) that delivers it to the developer’s email inbox. A short technical footer is auto-attached to help the developer reproduce bugs: app name, app version, Android version, device manufacturer, and device model. No identifiers, contacts, account data, or content from your decision entries are sent.

Email address: optional. If you provide it, it is used solely so the developer can reply to you. If you leave it blank, the message is delivered without any identifier and the developer cannot reply.

This feature is fully user-initiated. No feedback is ever sent without you tapping Send. The message is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

Data Sharing

Basira does not share your data with advertisers, analytics providers, or cloud services, and does not sell your data.

The one exception is the optional feedback feature described above: if you choose to send feedback, your message (plus the technical footer, and your email if you provide it) is delivered to the developer through the Web3Forms email-relay service.

If you use the app’s share feature, Android will ask you to choose another app. The text you share is then handled by the app you selected.

Internet, Accounts, Ads, and Analytics

Basira requests internet access for one purpose only: to deliver an optional feedback message when you tap Send Feedback and submit it. No other feature uses the internet.

Basira does not include accounts, ads, analytics SDKs, or cloud sync.

Local Storage and Deletion

Your decision entries are stored on your device in the app’s private local storage.

You can delete a single decision from the decision detail screen, or delete all local entries from the About screen.

Uninstalling the app also removes its local data from the device. To request deletion of a feedback message you sent, email the developer.

Backup

Basira disables Android backup for app data so your decision journal is not copied to cloud backup by Basira.

Children’s Privacy

Basira is a general productivity app and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
